Cradles to Crayons

I went to Cradles to Crayons to do volunteering on March 2. There were many used clothes and unsold clothes. We checked the quality of clothes and put those clothes in bags. These clothes donate to poor people in Boston.
We couldn’t put in Bags the cloth with pills. I think it is stricter than I thought. If I am a poor person, I want to get many clothes as possible. However, the staff said, “if you get clothes with pills, you may feel uncomfortable.” Also, we couldn’t put in bags the clothes with business marks, holiday marks. Some children don’t have family, and some can’t commemorate the holiday. Before volunteering, I thought we had to donate something like used clothes and textbooks without worrying about their quality. However, it is not collected. We have to think about the feelings of poor people.

My research topic is poverty in South Sudan. I think people who live in South Sudan need many donations. I have many used clothes, but I didn’t know where I can donate these clothes. If the donate box is placed in many places like in the shopping mall, in the school, people can donate easily. Also, the number of donated clothes will increase.
I would recommend the people who want to volunteer and help poor people. The new question is how many people get donated clothes and how can they get donated clothes Cradles to Crayons.
The staff said we could donate some clothes from the box at Cradles to Crayons. So, I want to donate some clothes before coming back to Japan.
