I went to Waterworks Museum on January 26th.
I learned how people in Boston get clean water, its history, and solutions to water pollution. There are three big engines inside the museum, and the staff explained many things. The first water system was made in 1795. After that, many people and companies came to Boston, and people’s demand for water has increased. To meet the needs of these people, the water system was improved to deliver cleaner water to more areas. I learned that the name of the station, reservoir, was also given because of the reservoir. Also, I learned about environmental justice. In fact, areas where racial minority groups and non-native speakers tend to have water issues. Now, there are some solutions to solve the problem, like organizations working towards environmental justice. In addition, we saw a demonstration of water pollution and the solution. I learned some solutions such as recycling dirty water, planting, storing water, education, and being careful not to use much water. I thought water is essential for us, so we should consider the issues more.
