On Wednesday, 26 January, I went to Waterworks Museum on a field trip.
It is located nearby Reservoir station. I learned that the drinking water becomes dirty and bad by pollution than I expected. The staff demonstrated how the water of the city became dirty. Then, Besides, I understood the factory also produces more bad pollution and chemicals. In addition, I learned there are 8 watershed solutions like planting more trees and stopping using chemicals to protect the environment.
I think the most important thing I learned is Environmental Justice. Minority areas’ water is not clean. It relates to racial issues, and it’s unfair. Lastly, I was surprised at the issue of Mexico. There is a lot of rain, but the rain is very dirty and a lot of pollution. We need to consider solutions.
However, this field trip did not relate to my research much, but children need to learn about clean water, water pollution and consider a solution in their school or education. Many people could not know the water problems that I learned here, but they need to understand. Thus, I came up with these questions. How should we tell the water problem for some people? As a solution, is there something we can do? I recommend Waterworks Museum for someone who wants to research clean water and environmental problems.
