Sara’s presentation.

Today, I listened to Sara’s presentation.

I learned that it is important for underrepresented children to give opportunities to meet leaders in order to have confidence and be able to imagine that they come up shot. In addition, I realized that considering who is the value leader for the children carefully is required. For instance, this organization tries to select a leader with who children can figure out the common point between them. I think Japanese society should adopt this activity. In this country, women are less likely to build their careers as well as work as leaders. One of the biggest causes of this is a lack of female role models, which makes women lose their hope and confidence to become a leader. I think that currently, a lot of women’s universities in Japan try to introduce the mentor system so that more and more women in this kind of university can meet role models. However, in my opinion, the younger we meet role models, the more effective we can set goals and achieve them. That is because young people do not know the Japanese social structure and so can think outside box easily. Therefore, I think Japanese elementary schools should adopt these ideas, which will make a huge impact on children, especially girls.
