On February 24, students from the adjacent British School presented us with a presentation on the SDGs. I watched the presentation of one of the groups, which was close to my own theme, SDG 13, Climate Change.
Their presentation was very clear and included a summary of what the SDGs are and why they are needed today. In the climate change, they talked about the current problems and solutions to them, etc. I didn’t understand everything perfectly, but it was interesting. In particular, the solutions mentioned carbon tax, which I had never really thought about before, so it was a good opportunity for me to think about it.
And finally, I got a chance to talk to the students a bit. They were curious about how climate change measures are being taken in Japan. They were impressed when My friend told them that Japan is aiming for a carbon-neutral society.
Finally, through this presentation, I felt that it was a very good opportunity for junior high school students to learn about these international issues.
