Cradles to Crayons

I went to Cradles to Crayons on March 2nd and 10th. The first time was for field experience; the second was an option. The first day, I sorted clothes, whether they were pills or not. I was surprised that only one or two pill clothes did not accept. I asked the reason, he said, you prefer to get almost clean clothes, right? I lost my mind. Even if using clothes, we should choose clean and suitable ones for children. I could get the volunteer spirit. I took charge of the girl’s dress. And then, we picked up the following clothes in one bag. The most important part is to check lastly. We completed about eight to ten loads for two hours. Overall, we did more than twenty bags for children. We contributed to more than twenty families who are in trouble with money. On the second day, I unboxed and sorted by size. It seemed like these clothes came from Lego and Levi’s shop. Maybe these were left. I thought donations from other households and some stores donate to there. That place was for children’s clothes, but I guess there are adult clothes. I will throw my unnecessary clothes away before returning to Japan, but I changed my mind. I will donate them to people who are poor in the U.S.

I am not sure this place is related to my topic. But I came up with the idea that the donation of clothes has increased due to COVID-19 because most people cleaned their house and sorted whether necessary. I suggest this place to anyone who learns poverty and responsible consumption and production.
