I interviewed Mr. Luke Albertson, who is Mr. Brendon’s brother, on March 7, 2022.
He works at an education company, so our group could hear about education related to our research topic. First, we asked him about an education issue in America. He said that education quality is a huge difference depending on state and area. Especially, wealthy states of children can get a better education. In contrast, it is challenging for low-income area children to take enough education. I think we need to solve poverty to decrease the financial gap firstly.
I found out the impact of covid in the education field. Of course, there is not enough technology in developing countries, so taking remote learning is difficult. However, the decline of academic ability is one of the issues for children. According to him, children’s level decreases from 6 grade to 4 grade due to the pandemic. I was surprised at the pandemic links to children’s ability. In addition, I learned about what is needed in developing countries. The lack of trained teachers is one problem in developing nations, and these areas do not proceed common standards. Thus, he described more trained teachers and the system of compulsory education need. Besides, spending more money on education is necessary to improve the quality of education.
This information was very useful for my research topic because I could find out the answer of research questions like COVID, American issues, and solutions. Our group could know what developing nations need to solve this problem, such as increasing trained teachers, changing systems, etc. However, it is tough for us to carry out these things, so my question is, what can we (like college students) do to help poor children except by volunteering and donations? Anyway, this research mission can get helpful information. By the way, I recommend someone who wants to think about education matters and is interested in the situation of low-income countries. Also, I recommend people who want to be a teacher and work for an education company because he was a teacher and works in the education business.
