I visited Cradle to Crayon to do volunteer. I did sorting work of clothes there. Some rules sort them. For example, we should remove clothes with stains, someone’s name, and a holiday design. By doing so, any children can receive them even if various backgrounds. Their mission is to provide children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive at home, at school, and play. According to them, 1 in 3 children in MA is at risk of experiencing clothing insecurity. I didn’t know that. Cradles to Crayons offers many children volunteer too. Children can know the problem of clothing insecurity and lack of necessities of many children. Their activity contributes to realizing SDGs goals. I felt happy my action could help some children, and I learned what can I do to realize SDGs goals. I am going to do volunteer again.
My research topic is abuse. One of the reasons that happen abuse is poverty. So, I think their activities are related to my research.
