I went to Jamaica plain to learn how to run small businesses.
Ginger, the Small Business Association director, invited us to some shop in Jamaica plain. Her organization helps small businesses there.
I learned small businesses of Jamaica plain help each other. Some shops sell local food. Also, they sell fair trade products.
It isn’t easy to run a business. They are not easy to keep costs low. We can support them to run their shops. For example, buying something local is one of the things we can do.

I found something of interest in Jamaica Plain. It is a community fridge. People can provide food and receive food. It can reduce food waste and help people who face food insecurity. Local people support this action. Now, more people face food insecurity because of the pandemic. It may help more people. That’s a great effort.
