I went to Cradles to crayons to do a volunteer on March 2nd, 2022.
We checked donated clothes, coordinated them, and put them into a bag. Some clothes were ripped, and some were dirty, so we threw them away. In addition, we made sure not to put clothes that described a family in, because some children do not have a family. I thought this organization does not just give clothes to children, and it cares about many things.
I was surprised that there were a lot of clothes there than I expected. Giving good clothes to children prevents them from bullying, so this volunteer helps many issues, such as poverty and education. It was not directly related to our research topic, hunger, but it was an excellent opportunity to learn about the importance of volunteering.
