Eastie farm

I went to Eastie Farm on February 10th,2022.

Two men who work there told us about Eastie Farm and food. According to them, environment and food are connected, and local food is expensive. Therefore, they grow their food in an environmentally friendly way. For example, they use food waste as compost. In addition, they use rainwater to grow their crops. This is because rainwater contains ingredients that crops want. Therefore, rainwater is better than daily water for farms. They collect rain from roofs from neighbors. So, it is important to get a good relationship with neighbors. Also, the most challenging project for them is greenhouse and learning organization. They usually receive funding from grants foundations or sell food to generate income to run their farms.

Also, I asked a man hoe he thought their methods would help in the developing countries. He said it is more effective in developing countries because there is a lot of human interaction there, and it works well. I think this information is informative for my research. It was a precious experience.
