Climate/Environmental Protection Protecting Ocean Life Sustainable Consumption/Production Water Sanitation

How are humans related to ocean life?

On February 26th, our research group went to the New England Aquarium in North End. Then, we learned about the relationship between human activities and the destruction of marine ecosystems.

We saw fish, coral, water birds, sea lions, and other creatures there. Everywhere in the aquarium, there were panels about related environmental issues. In modern times, the major problem is that human activities such as commerce and development have caused water and air pollution, destroying the habitat and growth of marine life.

Also, when we interviewed the staff, I learned about the impact of climate on the oceans, as climate change is causing sea level rise even in Boston. It was also interesting to realize that there is now a government program called National Marine Sanctuary to protect the ocean and its creatures. I was curious to know if such programs are also being implemented in other parts of the world.

I would recommend this research mission to anyone interested in various aspects of climate change, oceans, and development.
