Zero Hunger

presentation about hunger (British school unclub)

British school UNclub did a presentation about hunger on February 24th.

I learned new things about hunger through their presentation. They talked about what is zero hunger, what is being done, what can we do in the future, what is the reasons. They knew more information and experience of the volunteer than I did. I didn’t know genetic modification of crops to provide larger yields of food and nutrients, ability to grow in tougher conditions, more efficient. I’ve known genetic modification in Japanese, but I didn’t know it in English so I also learn new vocabulary. The most surprising thing is everyone has done volunteer. In Japan, we don’t have enough opportunities to join volunteers so I was surprised. They showed us the information about volunteers. For example, food kitchen, and working with an NGO. Those of the community can join us easily. I thought japan should do more volunteering in the school. American people are more familiar with joining volunteers even they are children. If many do volunteer it will be big power.

My topic is poverty so hunger is one of the big problems in poverty. The information of volunteers can be a solution to reduce poverty. My new question is What’s the difference between genetic modification of crops and organic crops. Does it harmful for humans, and costs high to grow? I’d recommend doing volunteer who wants to help people.
