I went to Uvida Shop on February 13.
I have been to a low-waste store called Cleenland before, and this store is similar to it. I wondered if there were any other low-waste shops in Boston, and I found this store on the internet.
I found that this store has no products made of plastic at all. There were a lot of products that could be used in daily life. For example, bamboo toothbrushes, plant based wax food wraps, and silicone food storage bags. Bamboo toothbrushes and plant based wax food wraps are biodegradable, so they are so eco-friendly. I had never heard the word “biodegradable” until I did some research on our topic, so I had no idea about it. While I was doing some research, I realized that biodegradable products are a very effective way to solve environmental problems, especially plastic waste issues. Therefore, it is good to make various kinds of biodegradable products and sell them at many stores to make more people interested in and use them. I was surprised to hear that a young entrepreneur opened this store. The owner was not there when we visited, so the staff told us that she studied environmental science at university. She has been interested in the zero-waste business since she was in university, and I thought it was very impressive that she actually made it happen. I realized that I need to be more interested in and knowledgeable about environmental issues. I found that there are many ways to work on responsible products that are related to our research by selling plastic-free and biodegradable products. I have to do more research on responsible consumption. If I could have asked one question to the owner, I would have asked why you became interested in environmental issues.
I would like to recommend this store to people who are interested in plastic waste or environmental issues.
